Description: At the beginning of the semester we were required to put together a pre-compentency verification. The purpose of this was to show our basis of knowledge and commitment to integrating technology into our classroom and sharing it with our colleges. This verification was based on the NETS-T and NETS-TF. By doing the PACV, we made ourselves aware of the standards and showed our basic understanding of them.
Impact: Now that I have a base understanding of the NETS-TF and have shown my commitment to technology integration and facilitation, I will be making a portfolio showing my competency in each of the NETS-TF standards. This portfolio will give examples of how well I understand and am able to facilitate technology in many different aspects to my colleagues. These examples will show my ability to describe and demonstrate new technology resources to others in my field. Some of the example in the portfolio will come as extensions from the artifacts I found in my PACV and some will come from my in depth understanding of the standards. The artifacts in my PACV were things that I was already doing in the classroom before I even knew anything about the NETS standards. Because of the technology practices that I am already involved in, the transition into becoming more of a facilitator in my school will be easy. The majority of teachers in my school already know that I am strong supporter of technology integration and they have seen this by what I am doing in my classroom and the impact it has on my students. Because of this, they will be receptive to other facilitation opportunities that I might have with them.
Intent: As I take more of a facilitator role in my school, I will be exposing many others to possible technologies they can integrate into their classroom. When I put all the example of what I have done in my ePortfolio, there will be extensive description and examples of the technologies and how they can be implemented into the classroom. I hope to make these examples as user friendly as possible, so that anyone who does not have immediate access to me will be able to look at my ePortfolio and use it a resource.
